About the memorial: The memorial is on the west internal wall of the church. The main memorial, to the men of the parish who died in the First World War, is made of wood with an elaborately carved and scrolled border. The lettering is incised in the wood and gilded. There is a 2-3 mm crack from top to bottom of the memorial, either because the board was made in two halves, which seems unlikely, or because the timber has shrunk and pulled apart. The Second World War plaque is a simple piece of wood, with no border, placed at the base of the main memorial. The lettering is not gilded.
