About the memorial: The memorial is on the west internal wall of the church. The main memorial, to the men of the parish who died in the First World War, is made of wood with an elaborately carved and scrolled border. The lettering is incised in the wood and gilded. There is a 2-3 mm crack from top to bottom of the memorial, either because the board was made in two halves, which seems unlikely, or because the timber has shrunk and pulled apart. The Second World War plaque is a simple piece of wood, with no border, placed at the base of the main memorial. The lettering is not gilded. The crack down the centre of the name board has been nearly been eradicated, and the memorial has been repaired and cleaned. The Second World War plaque has been removed and replaced and a complete name board attached across the bottom together with a bottom rail that matches the original the elaborately carved and scrolled border. The memorial now looks complete! This new name board now has the two individuals that were killed in the Second World War together with a further individual who was killed in the First World War.
