About the memorial: A large three-roomed hall, the largest of which is fitted with a dance floor. It has electric lighting. There are marble tablets flanking the entrance, bearing an inscription and the names of the fallen. These names are also reproduced inside the hall on an illustrated panel. The Memorial Hall was built in memory of those from the Village who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the Great War 1914-18. It was funded by public subscription and opened in 1924.
