About the memorial: Within the church on the north wall at the altar. A brass tablet commemorating Sir Jacob Preston, Bart, and also his youngest brother, Lieutenant Thomas F. Preston, Norfolk Yeomanry, attached to the Royal Flying Corps, killed on 24 January, 1917.

IN MEMORYOF SIR JACOB PRESTON, BART. BORN MAY 6TH 1887 DIED FEBRUARY 12TH 1918 AT THE AGE OF 30 AFTER A LONG ILLNESS BRAVELY AND PATIENTLY BORNE ALSO OF HIS YOUNGEST BROTHER THOMAS F. PRESTON LIEUT. NORFOLK YEOMANRY ATTACHED TO THE R.F.C. NORN NOVEMBER 14TH 1889 AFTER SERVING AT THE DARDANELLES IN THE GREAT WAR, HE WAS KILLED WHILE FLYING OVER THE GERMAN LINES IN BELGIUM ON JANUARY 24TH 1917 AND WAS BURIED BY A GERMAN CHAPLAIN AT HOUTHERN "BE THOU FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH AND I WILL GIVE THEE A CROWN OF LIFE"
