About the memorial: This forms part of a tribute to pupils from WW1 and WW2 displayed on a wooden backboard, moved from the original site due to a fire in the building and housed in the Music Block of the Academy. The intention is to find a more suitable site in the Reception area where it can be seen by pupils on a regular basis. It is made up of three parts - the central part for WW1 being of metal edged with enamelling and with a silver laurel leaf encircling the school emblem. Either side is a cast iron mount for the name of pupils in the 1939-45 conflict. Research into the history of each pupil is intended to be displayed when it finds a new home.
