Location: Internal
Setting: Inside a building - public/private
Description: Screen
Materials:
  • Timber Timber (any)

About the memorial: An elaborately carved and figured reredos was associated with a stone plaque on the outside of the church showing dedication & names with a decorative cross in relief at its centre. The IWM Register now declared the rerdos lost (see comment). Landscape orientated dedicatory stone tablet set flush into an outside wall of the Church. Tablet is internally recessed by a concave moulding which in turn, encloses a further three recessed vertical panels, separated by raised mouldings. Outer panels are horizontally sub-divided by raised mouldings. A raised, decoratively elaborate, Gothic-style cross standing on a three tier base, adorns the central panel. Upper left and right panels each bear an incised inscription which are to be read one panel at a time. The lower left and right panels each bear incised names.
