About the memorial: A mottled, orangey, marble plaque with two parts. The upper part has a castellated raised border, with shield at its top, and a central, lighter coloured section including a central figure of a soldier in relief and dedication & WW1 names around it in black incised lettering. The lower section has floriated sides plus dedication & WW2 names.
