In memory of Captain Arthur Victor Newton 13th Somerset Light Infantry and Royal Flying Corps. He took part in the retreat from Mons while serving with the Somerset Lt. Infantry. He fought at Le Cateau and the Marne and was severely wounded in the battle of the Aisne September 15th 1914, after which he joined the Royal Flying Corps and was serving with this Corps when he was killed October 20th 1915. Aged 22. His body lies in a soldier's grave in Belgium.
