About the memorial: Originally dedicated in 1922 with 4 bronze plaques bearing the names of 54 local men. A wrought iron gate fronts the monument. A topstone was added post WW2 with the names of 16 men and one woman who fell in that conflict. Funded by grant and local donations it was renovated and re-dedicated on Remembrance Sunday 2007. It was discovered that 2 further casualties from each war had been omitted, these were added to the plaques during their refurbishment. In 2014 the adjacent West Street well was restored and also dedicated to the fallen. at the same time the fence to the rear of the memorial was replaced with posts and chain link fencing. these were both funded by the Belford Community Group. Funds remaining from the 2007 campaign are held by Belford Parish Council and used for ongoing maintenance and needs, controlled by two local honorary trustees. Belford Community Group also contribute to the upkeep and provide a volunteer gardener to maintain the flower beds
