About the memorial: The memorial is a stained glass window in the north aisle of the church. It comprises of 3 lights with the central light being a figure of St George slaying a dragon, the left light has an oak tree with a motto banner, a white rose bush, a castle with a wood below in front of which is a column of cavalry on horseback, tuplis, primroses and iris, the shield of England (Gules 3 lions passant guardant in pale or) and then the commemorative panel. The right hand light has, again, an oak tree with a motto banner, a white rose bush, a scene of white cliffs above a sea on which are four submaries, the shield of Yorkshire (Gules a rose aregnt), lilies, crocuses and coltsfoot and then a further commemorative panel.

Top left: For Saint George Merrie England. Top right: The Sign of Victory. Bottom left: To commemorate with all honour the part taken by the men and women of this parish in the Great War. Bottom right: and dedicated to the glory of God in the year of grace MCMXX.. O that men would therefore praise the Lord for his goodness.
