About the memorial: Cenotaph with four reliefs on alternate sides, a soldier, sailor, airman and a nurse. Surmounted by a robed female figure with a raised left arm holding a dagger, standing over a fallen male.2010: Replacement bronze panels made. Arranged by Rhondda Cynon Taf and the Royal British Legion. Date Unknown: planned restoration works to refurbish the memorial which was vandalised 8th August 2008: Four bronze reliefs of figures stolen. c2006: Refurbished. The Walesonline website reported on June 3rd 2010 that the memorial had been restored and rededicated.
