About the memorial: A rough surfaced, square, white coloured stone with a mine on its top and metal plaques attached to its sides. The front plaque shows Service crest & dedication, others show detailed etchings of minesweepers and fishing boats with further detail anout the wartime experience of the Patrol Service. All lettering in gold. 13,890 men were lost, of whom 2,385 have no known grave.
