To the glory of God in loving memory of Meaburn Staniland Captain 4th Lincolnshire Regiment Town Clerk of Boston killed in action near Hooge in Belgium 29th July 1915, aged 35 years. Also of his brother Geoffrey Staniland 2nd Lieut. 4th Lincolnshire Regiment killed in action at Lindenhoek in Belgium 13th April 1915, aged 34 years. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
