About the memorial: Two tall white marble tablets side by side , set into adjacent wall niches each with straight sides and base and a trefoil headed top .Each tablet is surmounted by a cross with features of both celtic and Syriac styles , below which is in the left hand tablet , the badge of the Second Hampshire Regiment and in the right hand tablet the badge of the 67th South Hampshire Regiment each in full colour .Each badge is set against a background of a trophy of standards in low relief. Below each badge is a tablet with the dedication on the left hand tablet and the names of the fallen on both tablets all incised and coloured black . Each tablet has above it a battlemented canopy and down each side the Regiment's battle honours on ribbons around sprays of leaves , At the base of each tablet is a trophy of arms with swords and rifles and a ribbon with the remaining part of the dedication

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.
