About the memorial: A memorial to those from St Benet's congregation who served in WW1. A parchment roll inscribed with the names of all those who served from the Catholic parish of Beccles is sealed in a casket recessed into the Western wall of the church. The recess is covered with a cast bronze plate inscribed with the names of the eight men who died. This inscription is surrounded by gold and green glass mosaic, with alabaster columns and a carved crocketed pinnacle on each side and framed in a Seaton stone surround.
