About the memorial: RAF insignia above St Michael and the Angelic Host defeating the Great Serpent. In the bottom left hand corner is the 504 squadron badge, in the right hand corner is freemasonry insignia (his schoolmaster father, Arthur, was a freemason). By James Paterson (1916-1986) ARCA. Signed and dated 1949. Flight Lieutenant Trevor is buried in the Churchyard. The death itself is not WW2 although his WW2 service is mentioned.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

Around the square border of the angelic host-I pressed toward the mark/for the prize of the high/calling of God in Christ Jesus; At the base of the window between the squadron badge and the freemasonry insignia- Erected by his Mother to the memory of/Flight Lieutenant Guy Trevor/who on Dec. 13 1945 was killed on a test flight after/serving in the R.A.F. as a Pilot for 5 years. Aged 25.
