About the memorial: The memorial was originally built from wood but fell into disrepair in the late 1960's and was removed. In 2017 a community team have worked to re-established an enduring memorial made from sandstone from a local old railway bridge. The stone has an inscribed granite plaque inserted detailing the fallen. The memorial was re-dedicated 12th November 2017 at the church remembrance service. Local children played a large role in the service with readings and poems. The community group has also researched the fallen men and notified families regarding the re-established memorial.
