About the memorial: The memorial is a framed illuminated list of those from the village who served in WW1. It is securely screwed to the north aisle wall of the chuch. There are 3 seperate panels each with a decorated border of leaves. The outer two have a single column of 40 names. The inner panel has at the top the Royal Coat of Arms with motto but without helmet or crown or supporters. Then the inscription followed by 3 columns each of 28 names. The names of those who died are preceded by a small cross. The scribe's name appears below the border of this panel - Robert L. Hart, York, 1922
