About the memorial: A large, rectangular, vertical slab of Portland stone with the LIght Infantry badge in relief. On either side are two Portland stone seats which have the Regimental badges of all units who have served as Light Infantry, Somerset Light Infantry (until 1959) Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry (from 1959) Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry (until 1959) Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (Green Jackets from 1958) King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry King’s Shropshire Light Infantry Durham Light Infantry Herefordshire Light Infantry (until 1967) Dedicated 2011
