About the memorial: Two Brass plaques. (1) Cpt.John Loy died 21/01/1902 in South Africa. (Kitchener`s Fighting Scouts) - makers name Mayer & Co. London & Munich - this is the second part of the inscription, the first part relates to Jame wife of James Dove Whitehead who was John Loy's cousin 2) Martin William Loy Lieut R.A.M.C. died 26/08/1916. Buried Blighty Cemetery, France - again the second part of an inscription, the first part relating to Samuel Harding and his wife Elizabeth who both predeceased Martin William Loy

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

(1) ............also of John Loy Captain 2nd Kitchener's Fighting Scouts Grandson of the above Matin Augustine Loy and son of Samuel Harding Loy and Elizabeth Loy who died at Heilbron, 21st January, 1902 while serving in the South African War. Aged 44. (2)............also of their son Martin William Loy Lieut: R.A.M.C. killed at the Battle of the Ancre August 26th 1916
