About the memorial: A circular, paved area with four, inward facing, separated, high backed, curved seats symbolising reconciliation between foes. On the backs of the "chairs" are explanations of the Quaker Philosophy, the "Friends Relief Service", the "Friends Ambulance Unit" and quotations from the Nobel Peace Prize citation in 1947 all in incised lettering. On the paving are 17 bronze stars represent Quakers who lost their lives
