About the memorial: The memorial, on the north wall of the nave of St James’s Church, was dedicated in February 1949 by the Reverend B J M Thackery, founder and first group scoutmaster of the 199th North London Group. The Revd Peter Braby, another former group scoutmaster, preached the sermon.
