About the memorial: The memorial shield was located on the wall of Stoke Bishop School. It was destroyed along with the school building by enemy action (incendiary bombs) in November 1940. It exists only in photographs held in the Stoke Bishop & Sneyd Park History Society archives. Part of the school buildings were used by the community until the 1990's as a Youth Club and Scout Hut. The remains of the main building was privately acquired c2000 and developed into a private residence.
