About the memorial: A grey/green marble tablet on a Hopton Wood stone backing topped with an ornamental cross. 61 x 40 inches. The WW1 unveiling was on 23 Jan 1921, attended by: Lt.Gen Sir Charles Briggs KCB., KCMG. The slate tablet must then have been replaced by a new tablet, which was dedicated on 5 Jun 1949 attended by: Brigadier H.R.C. Frink DSO The memorial was manufactured by J.W.Singer and Sons Ltd to a design by S.D.Kitson Reported in the South West Suffolk Echo on 29th January 1921 © IWM (WMR-5276)
