About the memorial: Stone plinth bears inscription on a tablet fixed to the front face. This is positioned on a stepped base and is surmounted by an octagonal pillar. The pillar supports a tablet on which is carved an image of the Crucifixion. The back of the tablet bears a different engraving, perhaps that of a saint.
