To the Glory of God and in proud memory of HAROLD PASHLEY DAVIS Lance Corporal 8th Batt, Somerset Light Infantry 'instantly killed by a German shell' near Havincourt Wood, on 11th September 1918 'while carrying rations to his comrades in the first line of trenches'. Aged 19. dearly beloved younger son of the Revd. Edward Davis, Vicar of this Parish and Gertrude Sarah his wife. 'Greater love hath no man than that a man lay down his life for his friends' 'With Christ which is far better' This tablet is erected by his parents.
