About the memorial: The IWM Register has entered this memorial into their records without any information as to its location. However, it was in the middle of a batch of entries for Beckenham Cemetery so I have placed it there, internet research having found nothing, apart from the fact tat the reference in the inscription to the Nyang River is wrong. The Nyang River is in Tibet, but there is a Nyong River in Cameroon, where the commander met his end during the fighting to seize this colony from the Germans.
