About the memorial: to the left of the altar under two battle standard flags, this is a wooden surround inside which there is a gilt curved decoration around the top of a painted scene of angels against a sky. underneath appears to be a slate tablet with two columns of names inside gilt borders separated by a large gilt painted cross. Underneath that is red stone with the inscription and the whole is covered by glass set into the wooden frame.
