About the memorial: Addition to family gravestone N410. Unusual both in being a woman and in the manner of death - drowned in the sinking of the Lusitania. As a Civilian she did not and does not qualify for inclusion on the CWGC register.

In loving memory of/George Chatt/first editor of West Cumberland Times/who died November 8th 1890/aged 53 years/Hannah wife of George Chatt/who died January 12th 1888/aged 55 years/Also of Mary Hannah Chatt/daughter of the above who died on the/14 day of October 1898/aged 32 years/also of Isabel daughter of the above/George Chatt and the dearly beloved wife of/Albert William Joseph Walker/solicitor Cockermouth/who died on the 19th day of November/1898 aged 30 years/also of Annie youngest daughter of the/above George and Hannah Chatt/born June 5th 1869 & was drowned on the Lusitanian [sic] May 7th 1915
