About the memorial: Addition to family gravestone which is a granite cross on 3 large plinths and with inscriptions on 2 faces. The inscription gives the family b]name as Johnston but the casualty's name as Johnstone. Also he died in Netley Hospital during the Boer War but there is no indication that he was a casualty of that war. However, the IWM seems happy to include him.
