About the memorial: One of a pair of windows bearing the figures of David and Moses. Church demolished. Petrol station on the site. Four other memorials from this church are recorded by the IWM Register as having been lost, but the Roll of Honour is in the Wesleyan Hall Methodist Church.

THESE WINDOWS WERE DEDICATED OT HE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORYA OF JAMES CARTER, A FOUNDER OF THIS CHURCH AND A CHRISTIAN WORKER, BY HIS SONS, DAUGHTERS AND EXECUTORS, ALSO OF HIS WIFE, MARGARET ANN AND THEIR SON, WILLIAM ARTHUR ROWE CARTER, CAPTAIN IN THE KING'S OWN ROYAL LANCASTER REGIMENT, WHO GAVE HIS LIFE FOR HIS COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR AT YPRES, APRIL 1915 (Line spacing not known)
