About the memorial: The memorial is a clock in the tower of the church with a face on the south side of the church tower. Inside by the tower is a wooden board commemorating the gift of the clock. The board is nowy headed with the arms, crest, helm, mantling and motto of the Cayley family on a disc occupying hte circular projection. The lettering is mainly in red with 4 letters picked out in gold. The whole border is painted in colours to simulate a twisted rope.

The clock in this tower was palced there by Mary Susan Cayley, Kenelm Henry Ernest Cayley, Dorothy Francis Crossley, Margaret Rénée Rideout and Anne Laetitia Mary Cayley in Memory of Sir George Everard Arthur Cayley 9th Bart., Royal Defence Corps, who died November 15th 1917, and of his eldest son Francis Digby Edward Cayley, King's Royal Rifle Corps, Killed in France September 29th 1915 and buried at Vermelles. R . I . P
