About the memorial: The memorial is a 3 light stained glass window in the north wall of the nave, it is the one nearest the pulpit. The tracery contains older glass. In the central light are standing full length portraits of the two sons dreassed as a medieval knight and a roman soldier below which is written on a scroll "O may thy soldiers faithful true and bold fight as the saints who nobly fought of old and win with them the victors crown of gold." The outer lights contain 4 Angels carrying (clockwise from top left) "The sword of the Spirit, which is the truth of God", the shield of faith, the belt of truth and the helmet of salvation.

To the glory of God and in loving memory of George Wombwell, Kings Royal Rifle Corps who died at Meerut India 18th January 1899 aged 23, also of Fredrick Wombwell, Captain, 9th Company (Yorkshire Hussars) 3rd Batt Imperial Yeomanry, died at Vryberg South Africa, 1st February 1901 aged 33. This window is dedicated by their three sisters
