About the memorial: A wooden triptych with a handwritten roll of honour placed in the centre. The central portion has a gabled top. The side portions are in the form of doors. On the opened doors are listed names, incised and painted black and red. In the central panel is a parchment roll with a highly coloured border and the same names in a different order and including the regiments. There is a shelf for flowers below. Above the flower shelf is a small plaque stating that the wood used in the memorial was removed by Hughes Bolckiw from HMS Britannia, cadet training ship at Dartmouth from 1865 to 1905.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
