About the memorial: The memorial is a bust of the Lieutenant-General displaying his medal in a black niche in the church. Below is a marble tablet with the lettering coloured black supported on two gray brackets which are maked with the makers name J. Harvard and place H-West.

To the famous memory of Lieutenant-General Sir Thomas Picton, K.G.C.B. born at Poyston, in this parish, 1758, August 24th, and baptized in this church, fell at Waterloo 1815, June 18th, he lies buried in the cathedral church of St Paul in London.
