About the memorial: Parchment scroll in wooden frame commemorating the 23 men of Wattisham, Suffolk, who served in the Great War. The five who died have a red cross against their names. A nearby plaque records only four dead. Two of the 23 received a Military Medal. Bildeston is several miles from Wattisham, and Wattisham church was made redundant in the 1970s, at which point the RoH was presumably moved to Bildeston. 18 served and returned. 5 Fallen.
