Roll of Honour or Book of Remembrance
- First World War (1914-1918)
About the memorial:
Paper Roll of Honour on what appears to be a match day programme. There is a hand drawn picture of a cenotaph on which the dedication and names appear. There is a drawn soldier standing guard on either side of the 'cenotaph'. The photograph on the Salford War Memorials website, and the description in the IWM Register, suggest a very flimsy document which may well not have survived.
The club left this venue in 1928, at the conclusion of a season in which they won every competition they entered. In the last few decades the club has led a nomadic existence so the fate of this memorial must be very uncertain. If anyone chances to read this and knows its fate please notify the War Memorials Trust.
