About the memorial: The hospital was built in the ground of the Metropolitan and City Police Orphanage in Hampton Road, Twickenham. It was opened by the Prince of Wales in 1923, and reported in The Graphic on 7th July 1923 . The building no longer exists, and the site is now St James's Roman Catholic Primary School.
