About the memorial: Made of mosaic glass, the memorial has a central inscription panel on antique pale green glass with gold and silver leaf. It depicts St George and St Andrew on either side. Vandalised in 2014, parts were lost. Now repairs have been made with the help of a Heritage Lottery Fund. Reinstated in the church, on 27th September, the anniversary of the Battle of Loos

In proud and loving memory of/Reginald John Ponsonby Cox/Major, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders/Only son of Major John Ponsonby Cox of Durham/ Light Infantry and Emily Chalmer his wife/Born April 2nd 1874, served in India and Egypt with the new army Alresford 1914-15/He gave his life for his country/at the Battle of Loos September 27th 1915/This tablet is placed here by one/who loved him
