About the memorial: During last Sunday evening's service at the High Street Methodist Church, a brass memorial tablet to the memory of the late Mr. E. G. W. Tyson and Major R. P. Barber was unveiled by Mr. Rex Barber, son of the late Major. - May 1951 This church closed some years ago and whereabouts of the plaque is unknown

: "With Thanksgiving to God and in loving memory of Ernest George William Tyson,. Born 1875, Died 1950. A faithful member of this Church and Circuit. He was a preacher of the Gospel for over 50 years, and Circuit Chapel Secretary for over 40 years." "Also in precious memory of Major Reginald Percy Barber (R.A.O.C.). Born 1900. Died on active service in Egypt, 1947. For many years an active and generous member of this Church. He also gave valuable service to the Local Authority, and in 1936 was Chairman of the Council."
