Status: Unknown
Type: Non freestanding
Location: Internal
Setting: Inside a building - public/private
Description: Board/Plaque/ Tablet
Materials:
  • Metal Brass
Lettering: Incised
Conflicts:
  • Second World War (1939-1945)
About the memorial: Brass Plaque with gold inscribed lettering, a thin gold double line border, the years of the war in opposite top corners and a cartouche of the burning bush at top centre. The memorial does not relate to the Auld Kirk and neither the IWM nor the Scottish War Memorials Project are sure of its origin. However, the Auld Kirk does contain a not dissimilar WW1 memorial which contains names from Darlington Place United Presbyterian Place which closed in the 1970s, so I will venture to speculate that this might be the WW2 equivalent.
