About the memorial: Glentham war memorial is located at St Peter’s Church and takes the form of a clock. St Peter’s Church is listed and stands in a conservation area. The memorial is dedicated to the fallen of the First World War. In 2014 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £1,661 towards the conservation of this memorial. The clock had been unreliable so works were undertaken to the mechanism of the clock. The works included; repairing the worn brushes and discharging the lever roller, dismantling, cleaning and lightly oiling the clock mechanism, automatic winding weight cable correction work, dial motion works and transmission, securing the loose bar lever and repairs to the strike hammer assembly. The clock mechanism was installed in 1921 as a memorial to those lost in the First World War. The mechanism was made by T M Hartley of Shillingford.
