About the memorial: When the memorial was near the village hall, the villagers displayed photographs of the men who went from their village and that of Little Carlton all around the walls of their meeting place. Fortunately these photographs have been retained by Edwin Reetham, farmer and long time resident of Great Carlton whose house can be seen behind the War Memorial.
