About the memorial: Wooden board memorial plaque to those of the 1st Volunteer Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment who died on active service in South Africa during the Second Anglo Boer War. The memorial includes 3 volunteers who served in the Royal Army Medical Corps and Imperial Yeomanry who also died on active service during the war in South Africa.
