About the memorial: A thin pressed metal plaque finished to resemble bronze, although it probably is not. At the head is a bound laurel wreath and ribbon in relief and the inscription is in raised upright capital block lettering. The plaque is mounted on a wooden frame. Although the premises are known to have been at 119 Wood Street, London EC2 both the landscape and the postcode have changed significantly (and these premises demolished), so the information given here is necessarily vague. This was a hosiery company based in Belper- see also WMO/291012 for their Belper employee's plaque. At North Mill the memorial is leaning against the wall in a window recess inside the museum area. It is not known if it had any intermediate homes between the closure of the London offices (at an unknown date) and here.
