About the memorial: The church is also known as St Moag or St Lupus or variations thereof. For consistency, the title of this memorial has been amended to that used in the Isle of Man National Inventory of War Memorials. Stained glass window flanked by two nowy-headed name plaques in bronze (?) with raised lettering set into the wooden panelling of the window on each side. Window depicts crossed flags backed by the Union Flag with the Isle of Man triskelion at the top surrounded by a laurel wreath. In the bottom section is a dedication in memory of the men of the parish who fell, together with a small date inscription (Sept 1922). To the right of the window is a glazed roll of honour with the same names as on the tablets, flanking a printed depiction of a crucified Christ watching over a dying soldier in WW1 uniform. The print has faded to a greenish hue although the names and the title panel are still clear and readable. The names on it replicate those on the bronze panels flanking the window and it may be that it is a later addition, perhaps moved here from another location? This may explain why it is so faded and colour-changed; in its current location it gets very little direct sunlight. On the ledge beneath the window is a photocopy of the Manx Roll of Honour for WW1 in a loose leaf binder, together with two British 18 pdr shell cases, both dated 1916. Unveiled on 26 May 1923 by the Captain of the Parish, and dedicated by the Lord Bishop. Sponsored by Mrs G. Moore. The Isle of Man National Inventory of War Memorials treats the window and the framed roll of honour as two separate memorials: Window: IOM_NIWM_MAL_00003 RoH: IOM_NIWM_MAL_00004
