About the memorial: This memorial is from Trinity Wesleyan Church Compton Rd and is now in the Royal British Legion. The Trinity Wesleyan Church Compton Rd was demolished and the memorial was moved to United Services Club Humber Road, later the club building was sold for redevelopment, and this memorial was found in the skip outside and mistakenly identified as being from Cable St Mill. The Cable street Mills Memorial is yet to be located.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
