Description: Battlefield (wooden) cross
Materials:
  • Metal Brass
  • Timber Timber (any)

Conflicts:
  • First World War (1914-1918)
About the memorial: A battlefield cross with a subsequently added brass plaque with dedication in uppercase incised lettering. Battlefield cross with brass plaque and wooden backboard at intersection of the arms. This appears to be a later addition , it is likely that in its original state the cross bore the typical soft metal strips which have been removed. There are traces visible on the upper vertical section of the original nails which fixed the strip probably denoting "IWGC"
