About the memorial: The memorial is located on a traffic island at the junction of Fordbridge Road and Church Road in Ashford, Surrey (historically designated as Middlesex). It has a Portland stone winged figure of Victory on a tall York stone plinth with a three-stepped base. Inscriptions are carved on the sides of the plinth. There are small square pot-holders on each side of the base, a small square stone at each corner, plus additional planters. The WWII stone is in the shape of an open book on its own two-stepped base in front of the WW1 memorial, with carved inscriptions on both sides, and square pot-holders in front and behind.
