About the memorial: A three-sided closed lantern cross on a tall square shaft. a three-stepped hexagonal plinth and a single-step hexagonal base. The whole set in an enclosure with a semi-circular red brick/ stone wall with benches inset into alcoves and with a chain fence across the open side.
