Conflicts:
  • First World War (1914-1918)
  • Second World War (1939-1945)
About the memorial: The war memorial in the central Norfolk village of Cawston is a Clipsham limestone wheel cross on a slim shaft on a plinth with a two-stepped base with brick panels. The cross is detailed and unusual with its arms ending in trefoil shapes, and there being a moulded section where the cross joins the shaft. Below this moulded section there is an intricate box shaped carving around the shaft. The memorial stands on a raised circular flowerbed in Cawston cemetery. There are inscriptions round the sides of the plinth and the top step.
